The image demonstrates that the two contests have completely differeny dynamics. Akross has been in constant and abrupt decline for 5 years. BC had one really bad season and 3 years of moderate growth afterwards.

Less than what? I wouldn't say AMV contests were heavily advertised before.

So it was, so it is, so it will be. I'm not sure though that everybody gets how the judging is done at BC. Maybe we could try to explain it better. Draw a Bleach's Rukia-style picture or something.

- For a novice it's a chance to get people to actually watch his video and get noticed.
- For a more experienced editor it's a chance to get A LOT of people to see his work because contests are closely monitored by leading youtube aggregators and all the people who upload AMVs elsewhere.
- You get a lot of respect from other editors if you win.
- Competing against the best makes you a stronger artist even if you don't win.
- Competition is a lot of fun on it's own.
- Putting a trophy on the shelf is also fun.

Actually as the image demonstrates, there are less and less participants in both contests. Taking as example the last AKROSS Con with only 70 participants says a lot.

Right now what we can see is:

-Less activity from experienced editors
-More participation from newer and/or unknown editors
-Less propaganda for AMV Contests (Though Big Contest tries)
-Even for judging, people is having problems with it

An important question I tend to see is: Why should I participate in the AMV Contest? (AC and BC)

If we could think of both contest as a business, they are in a bad position. They interested you but you want to follow them, not get involved with them.

Just go and take a look to any video in the front page, or if you wish in all the site and you'll know the answer. And no, it's not a matter of being a critic or a jerk, the fact is that lately the kind of comments you get are no longer constructive, but very destructive, likely trash comments.

С лета 2016 хочу сделать трейлер бк17, но один не справлюсь ни по времени, ни по креативу. Гоу собирать команду, чтобы не запороть 10-летнее событие.
Чтобы не быть х**м с горы, скажу что делал трейлеры FAMV show 2016 и OHEM, поэтому пригожусь)

It would be pretty cool to see all the high profile editors make a stunning comeback in this upcoming Big Contest, or even new promising participants, some very talented editors participated in this years Akross, but I can't help but feel the quantity and quality of videos is decreasing at an alarming rate on both BC and Akross.

Like Fury said, I think it has alot to do with this "elitism" and mindless bashing the community is getting quite infamous for, it simply pushes new and insecure editors away because they feel like they're signing up for public humiliation and hostility, but oddly enough these toxic comments are rarely from notable editors, they mostly originate from jealous, inexperienced and immature editors, who think they're supa hot faya. Remember, these are free anime music videos people made on their free time, we aren't curing cancer here, so take it easy.

Anyways, best of luck to the people managing the contest and all contestants, go make me some more cool vids to watch

Be less toxic and be open to the new entries (new editors) that would be a huge step. Its hard to believe but things have been changed. Is better to try help the new wave of editors but also to show and explain them how it should be done. Nowadays everybody thinks he knows everything and that he can edit or do better, meanwhile things arent like this. Also take care of what u have left so you dont lose that either. Bunch of unknow and unskilled editors talking under the #justmyopinnion, downgrading any other oldie or editor that contributed to this community for years. The truth is that amvnews community does as bad as does good too and here im not talking about the staff or the people that organize this but the people around it, viewers in general. Nobody wants to be part of something thats so toxic. BC and AKROSS gave the best and biggest editors, amvs and experience in the entire AMV community. I dont think that the contest itself have a problem but most likely the people. Its easier to look sweg and mucho in comments than to get up edit and show u can be better. Editors lost that and whats left is a bunch of: i cant edit but i can trash you all over the comment section.

С другом стороны, если у людей руки из жопы растут тут нечто не поделаешь .. Людей тех кто реально клипы умеют делать по пальцам пересчетать можно... А на остальных пох

А никаких причитаний по поводу конца клипмейкерства и не было, не про то, так не про то, не вопрос, но я изначально посмотрел на график, именно с точки зрения общей картины(которую, на мой взгляд он не очень точно отражает), речь шла именно о графике(картинке), а не об аналитике кривых, я прекрасно вижу что акросс последовательно скатывается, а бк показывает стабильность и признаки роста и надеюсь грядуший кон вселит еще больше оптимизму.

В своё время перестал участвовать в конкурсах из-за неадекватных результатов. Когда в топ-5 попадало не пойми что, а реально крутые работы, но без поддержки друзей среди участников/жюри, оказывались на задворках рейтинга. Но в юбилейный надо будет поучаствовать, глянуть что за пятилетку поменялось.

Дедлайна нет. Но хороша ложка к обеду. Хотя бы месяца за полтора до конца приёма работ. Чтобы можно было впечатлиться трейлером, побежать и успеть сделать клип. А лучше ещё раньше.

Кто в кого переходит это вопрос вкуса. График не про это, а про то, что динамика у двух аналогичных показателей принципиально разная. У Акросса крутое безостановочное пике, а у БК стабилизация после падения и даже рост. Почему так? Потому что наши усилия по продвижению дают эффект. А причитания о конце клипмейкерства ничего не дают. Помогайте нам продвигать, делайте трейлеры и баннеры!

Во-вторых, я отталкиваюсь именно от акросскона, как от более значимого и задающего тренды события(до поры до времени), сам посуди, пиковый акросс2011 по сути переходит в пиковый БК2012, то есть, в такой взаимосвязи, пик отечественного амв приходится именно на конец 11го начало 12 года. А дальше уже начинается падение, не столь ощутимое(на тот момент) для акросса, но зато настоящий обвал для БК.
Вот и говорю, сдвинуть кривую, что бы точки друг над другом не нависали.
