This video made me watch the anime, and just as this AMV, it was great

I like the video a lot, despite some significant drawbacks.

When I initially watched it 2 days ago, one major standout here was of course the creative composition work. I really enjoyed your playing with scale and backgrounds, and the technical execution of it was for the most part flawless (one thing I always notice though is the sun distortion that also affects the rat in space despite the major depth difference).
I then shortly after was linked the official music video. I had seen that a year prior, but had forgotten about it. I was decently disappointed that the ideas I had thought came from you were actually taken from the official video for the most part. I never really understood the draw of recreating an already existing video.
However you fortunately did not rely on the ideas from the official video entirely, and brought some of your own themes in this video, which I definitely appreciate. The all encompassing theme of imagination and creativity definitely works with this song.

The way it was presented though came with another drawback of the vid, which is the Russian narrator. The voice combined with Russian language which frequently uses sibilants just doesn't go well with the gentle nature of the song. It really throws me off when watching and already prevented me from rewatching a bunch of times since the vid starts with the narrator.
I also want to mention that the subtitles you put there are really bad. They are way too small and right at the bottom of the screen, which makes it really hard to watch and read at the same time. You really should've included soft subs in .srt instead of the hard subs.

The second outstanding aspect of this video is in my opinion the editing. I enjoy the organic nature of your cuts through and through. The accents of the songs are met beautifully by your cuts, along with clever use of creative effects and organic camera movements. Here, you bested the official video in my opinion, which really lacks dynamics compared to your "remake".

Now finally, the elephant in the room is the later part were the video switches to "raw-style" editing. I definitely understand why it was mentioned here frequently, and I also keep asking myself whether it was the case that you ran out of time for this part. However, I can't really say that this part impacts my enjoyment of the video a lot. Your editing still holds up there, and even my favorite part can be found among those scenes (Marnie dance 2:51).

Okay I think I wrote enough, good job.

Intriguing concept.
I am constantly thinking about analogies between the characters and the depictions of water.
The atmosphere brings comfort to those thoughts as well.

Been meaning to watch this for days now. Finally got to watch it and it is absolutely cool. Very nicely done, atmospherically and stylistically.

This vid was probably my favorite of the contest. It's real good. The quirkiness gets to me every time.

The whole ending is so good.

Kinda nice idea. Not executed fully though. I'm sure you could refine the paint style by a lot, but knowing you, you're probably never gonna do something like that again and just half-assedly start another style which you won't ever refine for a full video as well :D

Upvoted though, could enjoy this pretty much due to me being a sucker for the music, and the editing is pretty fun.

I liked this one. Great track and cool editing. A few minor disturbances here and there, for example the box-like nature of some footage elements in the composite.

not bad at all

This was a pretty interesting watch.
Very cool and diverse narrative structure.
Some nice glimplses of cinematography in there.
And the sound design also wasn't bad at all.
Only the overlays were too fancy sometimes and the tracking animations were pretty rough.

The alternative download is an alternative cut of the video, where a middle part is cut, for ppl who rather have the song in one piece.

Welp, my bad. I mentioned the difference about the versions in the "to the admin" field, hoping it was possible to add a note to the actual download link itself. But I both was wrong either way and probably communicated it wrong. I'll request a note to the description real quick.

This was easily the best of the JE videos I've watched (~top9), and one of my favorites of the entire year so far. I already elaborated on youtube, so this shall suffice for now.
